How do you remove paint from a Corvette without disturbing the gel coat? Are there chemical methods or do you just sand?

I went to a auto-paint store and got a can of Klean-Strip Fiberglass paint remover for cars. I also got a spray can of mar-hyde urethane parts paint remover. I tried it..and to my supprise it worked very good.
Both products made in the u.s.
You can find product info for the fiberglass paint remover at W. M. Barr & co. inc. For the urethane paint remover www.bondo.com. What type of paint is on your car now Adam? Lacquer ?
