OK, dumb question.....how do I remove my horn button (82CE)...My steering wheel is loose and based on everything I have read in the forum it sounds like all I need to do is tighten 3 screws under the horn button/cap.  By the pictures, it looks like I should be able to pull up on the center horn button but mine doesn't seem to budge.

Pull harder!
You'll have to grasp the horn button on the outer edge, and pull straight up.

The horn cap is really tight in there.  As Joel said.  Pull up with good amount of force.

OK, will give it a more agressive try .... Not knowing what I was doing I didn't want to pull too hard (I usually do and then break something)... thanks

I had a harder time putting mine back in correctly.  The metal ring that retains the horn cap (3 sections I think), might bend a little, so it will not be straight or as tight when you put it back.  I had to ply them back as best as I could. (probably because I didn't pull straight).

Make sure they are straight, as they make the contact for the horn to function properly.

Well, that was the easiest repair in a long long time....pulled straight up on the horn button and it just pop'd off (had the jack handle ready but not needed ).  Removed the three screws and took out the rings...then used a drop of paper whiteout to mark the position of the telescopic center screw...when all that was off, I found the center nut was barely snug.....got out the 1/2 inch socket set, tighten the center nut real snug and put everything back together in reverse order.

Steering wheel is very secure --- no wobble...Definetly good advice to disconnect the battery....that horn gets annoying...

Thanks everyone
