Rear Window option

I was told by several people that GM discontinued the removable rear window in 72 and were not available on 73's however then have been told by the same amount of people that a "FEW" 73's came through with the leftovers. Whats the story? Thanks guys

That raises a good question. Can I change over my 82 coupe rear window to an 82 CE hatchback?

Any 73 with a removable rear window has been converted - not a difficult task - takes a couple of hours.

To answer YOUR question, Yes you can install an '82 Collector Edition Hatchback Rear Window in your '82 coupe. I did that exact conversion to a Black '82 coupe for a good friend of mine. It turned out so nice that I started looking for one for my Vette and did the same conversion on it last year. It is soooooo SWEET!!! And it is relatively easy to do. Everything just bolts in and the only modifications to the car are a few notches cut into the inside panel of the targa band as clearance for the hinges. If you ever wanted to put the car back to original (I don't know why anyone would after having this option) no one would ever know the difference unless they removed the interior panels.
