Anyone do a remove and reinstall of the rear window? I recently removed and reinstalled my rear window using the reaseal kit form Zip. I beileive I followed the install direction. everything has been fine up till this weekend attended the All Bowtie car show in longview. Was reall hot in the 90's, on the way home with tops off the window came loose into the car. it appears in the heat the seal came loose. I am missing the palstic molding around the window. Is that neccessarry to help hold it in or is the seal suppose to adhere and hold the window alone.
one good thing I can see why the windows that can be removed makes a big differance in the way the wind is with the tops down.
Any ideas welcome

Holy @#%%&&*** Batman! That musta been scary, so glad it came in and not off. You would think the heat would set it and not release it. I do not think the inside trim holds the window at all. What happened to the outside trim?

My 75' is set from inside the car. I replaced mine by going to a auto parts store and getting 5/16 sealing tape in a roll. It was less than  $12.00 and sticks like, and twice as nasty. It takes a wire to cut it loose to get window back out. GOOD stuff, made by 3M.  If cleaned up properly, window and frame, it will stick very well.

Their is no outside trim it installs from the inside up against the body. I have a call into Zip tech to see if its a defect in their seal or if I did something wrong, but its pretty streight forward clean both sufaces apply the primer to window put the seal on, put the primer on the body push the window in place. everything seemed fine no leaks, we dont get many upper 90 days, but it set in the sun at the car show. most of the seal was still on the window it just came away from the body. rraider12009-07-06 12:10:53
