I am trying to locate rear vent tubes for on my 72 convertible. I already purchased one from Zip but it wasnt correct. Not their fault I ordered it! heres the problem i am having, i have only found tubes that fits coupes. Are the convertible drain tubes different? All the pictures I have found show the tubes coming out the sides and heading toward the frame. The tubes on mine come out the bottoms. There were no tubes on it when I got it and without them the water from rain or washing will drain right onto the tank. I could always fabricate something different but i would prefer to find the right part. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Rodney

Hey Rodney.. I didn't find the drain tubes but I did find a re seal kit that replaces all the gaskets around the car..it's for when the car is repainted..Ecklers..part number 25953..It shows the door handles and lenses and other stuff that could be replaced now..I guess alot of phone calls might be in order..or call Larry up there at Vette Spec!

Big smile   YES,YES! If it is available, Larry is the man to speak to. I also have a 72 topless. The tubes are in the corner of the lid and exit near the frame. The vents on top of the body do not have enclosers. They go straight to the ground. Mine do anyway. A plain piece of light tubeing should work if you cannot locate them.

Mark, not sure what you mean, Have you ever had your rear louvers off and if so are you saying when looking down into the vents that you have tubes on the outside going thru the bottom. I havent found anything from any vendors yet.
Rich, I have already purchased that kit from ecklers but it doesnt have any of the rear vents or tubes in it. It has the external body gaskets but nothing for the astro venting. I found tubes for coupes but nothing for convertibles. I'll keep looking or have to fabricate something.

I finally remembered to call Larry today at Corvette Specialties. First let me say" what a great guy". He took the time to talk to me about my vent tubes then went out in his store and checked his 71 convertible to see what they had. We found that neither car had tubes. They both have a hole in the bottom for drainage and thats it. We decided that there are no tubes! Thanks Larry for taking the time to help me out.

Verts do not have astro ventilation. The body has the vents blocked off or blanks in place.

I think the difference is gonna be A/C or not, but I could be wrong. On the '73-'74 convertibles, the vent grilles are just open...you can see all the way to the ground. No bottoms, or drain tubes at all. On the coupes, the grilles are there, but the bottom is blanked off on the A/C cars, but the non-A/C cars have the ventilation system, with the rubber flaps and all.

I have a vert with air. Grills go to the ground on sight. Astro is blocked out. The drains go to the frame.  A base car for the most part, no power anything, well, I have steering! MAYBE I have another one of those RED HEADED STEP-CHILD cars! I also spoke to a NCRS judge at a VETTE function, in Bowling Green and He even said the verts were not Astro. It was a couple years ago at the convention center at a CARAVAN program of some sort. I was not impressed with the show, I thought it would be different. He also said my wind shield washer system was plumbed wrong, which I proved him wrong on, when I did some homework. The washer BAG, not bottle is on the left side under the fender. It hangs on a metal hanger. He did not know where to find it, and said mine was wrong. WOW, a rabbit trail! Oh and by the way, my windows say ASTRO VENTILATION on them.  The drains I am refering to are in the corner of the deck lid. Both sides. phewI am through playin now.
