Who makes the best rear three door rear compartment for a 68?  I know Corvette America makes one and I think Mid America also makes one. Which is the best and closest to oem.

All I can tell you is that I got mine (complete set, carpeted and all) from MAM and installation was simple. Drill out the rivets, take out the cracked old stuff, install the new (I used screws). Bought new S/S tabs (on my car they were metal) and transferred the latches from the old set. The quality of the unit was first class. And while the underside is not exactly like the old one, no one will notice. I was impressed with the MAM unit but I haven't seen the CA unit in person to compare. HTH

No info for you on a 68, but on my 78 I bought replacement parts & rebuilt mine when I installed the new carpet.  Was definitely a PITA & took more time than the rest of the entire carpet install, but the components I bought all came from CA and were well formed & sturdy.  I bought the new three compartment frame & the individual door frames, as mine were all cracked.  The most time consuming part was stripping the old carpet off the door panels & getting the frames to fit on with the new carpet (had to shave & trim alot to fit)...if you're not replacing the carpet, then taking the old frames off & installing new shouldn't that long, if you want to go that way.  Painted mine myself to match using their spray dye (I have an odd interior color).

What I did not mention that they had the exactly the same suface finish & shape as the ones that came off.  I am presuming that they were the originals as they were riveted & not screwed together.
