I just drilled out those plastic rivets (really good idea GM Angry) on the rear compartment covers to replace the cover borders. What has anyone used to replace the rivets? If I use screws it looks like I will have to countersink. Has anyone just glued? Thanks

The replacement surrounds are screwed in...and yes, you'll need to countersink the holes in the compartment doors, as well as the surrounds, if you want them to look decent.
I've often wondered if there was a better way to attach the surrounds...possibly with a hot-melt plastic welder...

You're lucky. It's impossible to remove the trim pieces on the 78/79s as they are kinda molded together to the door. Ya gotta break em off. The repro trim pieces are already drilled and countersunk for screws and fit very nicely.
