Anyone put in an in-dash CD player in place of the factory radio?

I did, and I'm not sure if it is the brand or the installation, but it skips a lot!

Any thoughts?

hello adam,

I put in a in dash cd player without any difficulties at all. Mine is a burlpluntk cd player. I think I conected the power wires wrong though, since it drains my battery steady. You may have a faulty cd player, or your cds are to scratched up and maybe if the cds are burned, the person did not do it properly. anyways hope this helps.
My 79 vette, has lots of TLC now ;-)

You might want to contact the place you bought it or the manufacturer. Most new CD players have an anti-skip feature. If your using recorded CDRs or CDRWs find out if your unit is compatible with either. Some will ply CDRs butnot CDRW. Some won't play burned CDs at all
