Confused   I have a stock 81' and my goal is to keep her as original as possible. The radio and speakers work fine, but...... The LED on the radio display cannot do a full display anymore, I guess some of the diodes (?) are permanently fried so the display looks a  bit like alien-speak.  We had a guy here in town who was great for such repairs but he has retired and there is no one who specialized in radio repair to take his place.  Any suggestions?

Second, I would like to upgrade my speakers (all suggestions welcome) without replacing the radio, which I hope can be repaired. I know I am sacrificing digital sound, but I am fine to settle for the best sound my little original radio can produce on a cassette tape. Now if it were 8-track, I'd be getting recommendations for a whole new system.

Not sure upgrading speakers would be that effective without doing same with the radio but am wlling

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Paul

Ward's classic car radio repair, Huntsville, Alabama. Phone 256-852-0955 or e-mail:glw@mchsi.com

Gordon Ward did a great job fixing the radio for my 75, but he advertises his specialty as 1968-1976 Corvette radios. He may not want to work on one as new as yours. You could always e-mail him and ask. Perhaps he would recommend someone else.
