Ok, so about 6 months ago, I posted this thread about a BUZZ in my radio.
I've never done anything more about it, but just found out some more symptoms that I thought might help you guys.
When the windows are all the way down, and I push the power window button down, the buzz gets worse, I also notice the AMP meter on my dash drop at the same time.

The amp meter dropping is simply a result of requesting power in the form of trying to operate the window. This is not really anything to do with the noise. But, the noise changing as you use the windows still leads back to one of two things...ground(s), or alt. interference.(or combo of the two)
I think I would first run a new ground to the radio chassis, and see what effect that has. You may be surprised...

A little more info on this...
today I noticed that the buzz would occur at RPMs of 600 or below, but not above. It didn't matter what speed the car was at. IOW, if I was stopped, but revved the engine about 600, the buzz would go away.
I haven't tried to run a ground yet... but any other thoughts based on the new finding?

Adam, I had the same problem when I had my '79. It had an aftermarket radio and the buzz and whine whould come though it. I put on something called a Alternator Noise Filter and it worked pretty well. Mid America has them for $14.99 part# 114-057.

Yeah, the filter should take care of it. Another thing is, have you had the alt. checked out? It is possible that it is putting out excessive AC "ripples", and causing the whine/buzz. I don't remember(and I'm too lazy to read the orig post

I'd look for a loose ground on the radio first, or just add one for the heck of it, have the alt checked for AC noise, and then go with the noise filter if the ground(s) don't shut it up.

Or you could adjust the idle to 800 rpm. Problem solved.
