I'm going to put in new carpet.Starting at the rear. How do you get the carpet off of the rear.It seems to be glued where it somes up in the way back. This is on an 82.Also what type of glue do you use when putting in the new piece.I want to start at the rear because it looks like the hardest part to do.I've got a heat gun but I'm not sure if thats the way to go.Thanks for your suggestions.

My 77 had 2 plastic buttons with large heads that held the back piece up. I know the later vettes had a much shorter wall so I'm not sure what they used. For securing the carper try 3M Super 77 adhesive. That's what I did when replacing the carpet. If you ever need to pull the carpet up it will release before damaging the backing. You can buy it at Home Depot in the paint department.Thumbs%20Up
