Looking to purchase a full interior carpet set.  Who has the best quality carpet that I won't be disappointed with when I open the box?  My car is an early 78 with black interior. I'm looking to replace the  carpet and heat insulation.

Any comments would be great!!

Did mine last year purchased from corvette america all pieces fit perfect. Just pick a good hot warm day and lay them out in the sun . You should have no problem. good luck.

Same here...took about 3 hours because I'm an obsessive type when it
comes to my car...when you cut the holes for the seat bolts, careful, it can
look great or horrible depending on how much time you take...also buy a
star drive so you can remove the seatbelt anchor bolts. corvette america
here too

A hint...soak those seatbelt anchor bolts thoroughly with penetrating fluid...they tend to rust solid from underneath where they attach to the frame. Even so, you may need an air impact to loosen them.

If you're a member of the National Corvette Owners Association they offer a pretty good deal on carpet sets.  I haven't bought yet but plan to either this fall or next spring.

One question, where the rear carpet joins near the door, there is a formed piece that is sewn to the carpet and holds it in place.  Does the carpet come with that or how did you handle that part of the carpet install?

I also got mine drop shipped from Corvette America thru Wilcox. I'm not sure about the "formed" piece unless your referring to the jute padding which is attached, glued, to several pieces per factory install. Then again, my 69 could be different than your 78.

I'm in the middle replacing mine now.  bought my package from Wilcox also.  fits great.

the formed pc came attached to the rear carpeting.  it is just pressed over the egde of the post.  I may use some 3M adhesive to help hold it in place.
