I have a 1970 with a trim tag with prime embossed instead of a color code. It was painted black due black was not offered. I need to find out how many cars came from the plant with primer only. The original owner has no paperwork as of yet. NCRS books show nothing.

There is a guy named Bud, at www.corvetteactioncenter.com that has an 81 Vette that came from the factory with only primer. His screen name is Rare81. You might check with him...he seems to have researched the primer from the factory options.

For many years, Chevrolet offered a paint delete option for those who wished to paint the car themselves for whatever reason. The cars would simply be delivered in primer only. It was usually a very low number optioned that way each year.
