I removed my window and regulator to repair the gear. Motor was working when I removed it but not working when reinstalled. Is there a simple way to test the motor to see if it is stll good? I seem to be getting power to the connection.

My guess is you lost the ground.  Check that first.

Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I took an extension cord about 7 feet long put clips on each end.  Now I have a setup where I can run a ground to the area I'm checking out and a hot lead directly from  the battery.

I did this to check the motor out and make sure that it would go up and down.  It works fine so I have a ground problem with my windows.  It just makes sure that when you are chasing grounds that is actually what is the problem.

Find a good ground, not in the door, and use a jumper wire to touch the motor housing, and see if the motor works.

Thank you all for your suggestions. It was a grounding issue. I am happy to say I have the regulator gear repaired, the widow and motor back in place and it all is working. Again Thank You!
