After cutting down my brake pedal to size,for more footroom,I sent the requested drawings,measurements,& digital pics of the accelerator & brake pedals in to Ultimate Pedals ( www.ultimatepedals.com )Meanwhile,I used sandpaper,rust encasulator,& then semi-gloss black paint on the metal surfaces of my pedals.After recieving my new aluminum pedals,I followed the procedures outlined by the manufacturer...I used an automatic center punch to mark the spot to drill,then I started with a 1/8" drill bit,then finished with a 9/32" bit to complete the mounting holes for the screws,washers,nuts and studs.After inventing a new yoga pose,I managed to get all the nuts started in back of the brake pedal,to mount it.The gas pedal in my 79 is plastic,which required only the stainless screws for attachment.-

You will require the following tools, which can be obtained at any local hardware store:

  • #2 Philips screw driver
  • Open end-Box wrench 7/16"
  • Drill bits 1/8" and 9/32"
  • Electric drill
  • Automatic center punch
  • Pencil
  • Degreasing spray
  • 2" wide Masking tape

Thanks! Now I can wear something besides the thinnest running shoes,& be able to rest my size 13's on the floor next to the brake pedal,& still be able to use it when needed,plus it looks good too

Thanks! In the pix,it looks like the accelerator is on crooked,but i guess its just optical illusion.
