The passenger side storage box can't be opened.  It is a lockable type, and is not locked.  The plunger plunges but doesn't release the lid from the compartment.  Does anyone have a tip for how to get this compartment open without having to bend the lid out of shape?  I have a door hinge (you know the part that holds the door open and doesn't allow it to slam on your shin when you're getting in) in that compartment as well as the installation tool and can't get it out now.

If anyone has any insight they'd like to offer, I'm all ears!
Thanks

My only suggestion would be to push down firmly on the door around the lock/latch area while pushing in on the release button....sometimes the doors can have just enough tension on them to keep the actual latch from moving....

You can gently work a flat bladed screwdriver into the space between the door and the frame and lift up at the same time. You want to separate just enough to pop the latch without adding too mch pressure and cracking the door edge or frame edge.

DON'T TWIST THE SCREWDRIVER - no matter how much you're tempted - higher risk of cracking...

Thanks for the responses guys.  Pretty much typical of what i thought you were gonna respond with, except for Man...shark.  He's obviously intuitively linked with the heavens and knows that the mice are staging a sitdown strike in my storage compartment.  They're the only ones I know that are small enough to fit in there.

Sorry, yesterday was golf league.  Will probably try to tackle it sometime this weekend.  Not exactly a high priority at this point.  Hell, it's still in storage from winter!  Haven't had time, or the weather (I live on a dirt road) to pull it out of the pole barn, but since it was 90 yesterday and gonna be 80's the rest of the week I think it might be safe now.  Will keep you posted whether I get it open or not.

Thanks again guys!!
