Vette(s): had a really nice one. sold it to a good friend. Purchased 2004 custom coupe in Feb. 2009 did not tell anyone here until August 2009. BAD I KNOW.
DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU CALL IT BUT THE PIECE THAT IS UNDER THE PARKING PARK HANDLE THAT LOOKS SORT OF LIKE A ROLL UP DOOR MATERIAL HAS COME OUT AND IT LOOKS ALITTLE BIT TORN IN THE NARROWEST PART WHERE IT GOES AROUND THE HANDLE.  QUESTION WHAT WOULD YOU BE CALLING THIS PIECE TO ORDER A NEW ONE? IS IT DIFFICULT TO INSTALL, (NOVICE, BRAIN DEAD, LACK OF) THANKS FOR THE HELP, LARRY

As I recall you'll have to take the  up console  to get it installed correctly. Not hard just take alittle time. If you can install carpet then this is easy.

Yep it is called the slider... and it is honestly pretty cheap to buy a new one...

Installing it however like Alan mentioned above is TIME intensive

..hardest part on my sharks was removing the bolt that held the center console in the rear...(damn impossible to see and I had to get to it thru the center door in the storage compartment...) without that bolt it would have been a snap to replace...

SOLD - "The Toy" - '70 Convertible
SOLD - "The Beast" - '90 ZR-1 (#682)
SOLD - "Betty" - '28 Ford Model A Tudor
SOLD - "BLKBRRD" - '78 Pontiac Trans Am
"BLUBYU" - '04 Coupe

What Bob said.  After removing all the visible screws I could see I couldn't figure out what was still holding the console in place.

Luckily I had an AIM and found that nasty bolt.  There has to be a designer laughing his (or her) butt off somewhere 'bout that one...!!!
