One thing I notice a lot is that most owners do not paint the mufflers black after they are replaced. Due to the way they hang the silver mufflers are very visible and just don't look right. These mufflers were painted black at the factory. They were just oversprayed but I taped up all paint and isolated the mufflers and painted them right on the car. You need to clean them first and use 1200 degree hi-temp paint. When you look at the car from the side and rear the silver mufflers compete with the body color. When painted they seem to dissappear.

One other place that gets blacked out is under the grills behind the rear window. Most cars that have been repainted have very bad overspray (same color as car) in this area. It is easy to remove the grills tape up around with newspaper and masking tape and use Krylon semi-flat Black to paint the area below the grills. This also makes the deck look better and makes the grills stand out better like they were originally.

I discovered Krylon semi flat black spray paint by trial and error. I agree, it produces a very satisfactory finish to the grill and recommend it. My s/s exhaust system remains unpainted and polished, however.
