My 70 Roadster has a single stage enamel paint job in the original white. The paint is a very decent #3 on a scale of 5. Ideally I will have the car repainted in the next few years.

For now I want to remove the luggage rack and repair some stone damamge around the body flares.

Can you use spray cans (Custom Match from Tower or somebody like that)and the blending agent from Du Pont with half decent results? I am not seeking perfection.

Thanks!

Bill

If you use spray be carefull not to spray too large an area. Clean the sopts well. Spray through a hole in a piece of paper or tape the area. Watch for over spray. When dry, you can wet sand the area smooth, and then use a buffing compound to get the shine back. Done carefully the spots can almost disappear. Done wrong you have a ugly mess.
