my car was painted about a year and half ago by the previous owner with base coat clear coat. the paint on the t-tops isn't the greatest, when you look at them at a certain angle it looks like areas of orange peel. it looks like to me it is in the base coat not the clear coat but i know nothing about painting. my question is does anyone think if i wet sand and buff that these areas would get better. if so what type of sand paper etc. or any special process to follow.

If you wet sand through the base coat befor you get the orange peel out, you may go too deep into the color. You also don't want to concentrate in that one area - you want to stay even on the panel since the area is so small.

If you've never done this before, I would recommend having a shop do it. And they will be able to reclear, buff and polich after...

My 2 cents - good luck! Smile
