Vette(s): 1982 C3 Collectors Edition 44000 miles, sat in the sun most of its life, My wife purchased it for me for Father's Day in 2007 from her girlfriend that had it for 19 years. It is on the road again. I'm retired but it is now my daily driver.
I've seen a car painted like that. I do not remember what it was. It was really cool looking. I assumed it was just a really dark blue. Which of course it is.

If ya want a black paint, ya gotta mix a lot of other colors together!
I've seen cars with black paint that looked blue, or even red under certain lighting. It has to do with the tinting used in/on the paint. Black cherry....anyone remember that color? Was black as it could be until the sun hit it...then is was black with a tinge of dark red....be-U-tee-ful color!

black cherry if I'm remembering the same color , had metallic in it. imo black paint with metallic looks terrible. when i spray black i spray the base then 75% base 25% clear mix then 50/50 then 25% base 75% clear followed by 100% clear that will give you a black finish thats unreal. but its a lot of work and a lot of material.
