Original Hood??

My '69 350/350 has a big block hood on it in order to clear the LT-1 intake manifold. It doesn't quite fit right so I'm wondering if it's an orginal big block hood or an aftermarket piece. How can you tell?

I think (I'm not positive) that most aftermarket hoods eliminate the wiper door. So, if you still have a wiper door, you might have an original hood.

It may not fit right because the adjustments are not 100% correct. I had a restoration shop try to fit my L88 hood onto my '69 and after many hours of sweating and cursing, it still does not fit "right" or at least not ar "right" as the original big block hood fit. They even changed the mounting hardware and latches from '69 pieces to '68 , '70 and '71 pieces to see if it made a difference.
The L88 hood fit perfectly on the car it came off of !
Go figure.

You said you have a LT1 intake what about the air filter? is that stock as well or after market?

I really cant tell you if you have a aftermarket hood without seeing the hood you have?
