A while ago one of the low beam headlights went out on my '77. Last night I had to drive home after dark so I thought I would just use my high beams. Well to my suprise when I clicked the turn signal there was no high beams and I lost the only working low beam. When I turned the brights off the low beam came back on. The bright indicater on the dash also did not come on. Today I went and purchased all new bulbs, the low now work great but still no high beams and I still lose the lows when I click to high. Any thoughts?

Sounds like the dimmer switch is bad. Your '77 should have the dimmer mounted on the steering column, operated by the turn signal switch. The switch itself is towards the lower(bottom) of the column, similar to the ignition switch. Might be a pic around here somewhere...
