If it's NOT the switch(@brake pedal)- and it's NOT the ground @ the rear lights- and it's NOT the bulbs- and I've 'centered' the mechanism within the steering column- WHAT THE #### can or could it be!???? And I DON'T want to hear that 'IT'S THE LOOSE NUT BEHIND THE WHEEL' !!! Please, I'm growing tired of using my TAIL/LIGHTS as brake/lights! Yes, I have working tail/lights and turn signals at the rear.

Suggestions???

If it were the fuse I wouldn't have ANY lights at the rear would I?

I will check again.

Turn signal switch....
If there is power going to the brake switch on one terminal, and power coming off the other terminal when the pedal is mashed, the switch is good. From there, the brake light feed goes thru the turn signal switch, and then back to the rear of the car, to the brake light bulbs. The circuit is separated from the front turn sigs in the switch, since the same bulbs are used in the rear for turn and brake lights.
It's done this way so the front turn signals don't come on every time you mash the brakes. If you're old enough to remember, the older cars(early/mid 60s & older) did not have this feature, so, when you stepped on the brake pedal, the front turn sigs would come on!

It's NOT the fuse, I'm OLD ENOUGH to remember(class of '72), so any other SUGGESTIONS ?

Most any of the normal Corvette vendors should have it. Check with Ecklers, Mid America, Corvette America, or my favorites, Paragon, or Lectric Limited.

If you are looking for a new turn signal switch, you're very lucky. Reproductions of this part (GM# 5698520) are now available from the places Joel has listed & on E-Bay for about $62.00 to $75.00.

Before the repops hit the market about six months ago, NOS switches going between $300 to $400 on E-Bay. I had to get a local AC Delco regional manager to help get me one at stroe prices.
