After researching different ideas people had for rear spkr mounts on the many Vette forums, and finding some with patterns & measurements,I kind of combined them. Then I went to a stereo shop/store to a guy that works alot in fiberglass custom-fit enclosures to work out some that follow the contour of the outer edges of our C3's rear compartment. We worked out a really good deal, becuase the main guy I worked with is moving on to another shop in E.Washington, and he needed to teach a couple new guys the procedures.I will be posting some pics on my site soon.Ended up covering them in black carpet to match the interior, but had considered other options.Sound really good! |thumb|

I'd like to see them as well. A while back someone on Ebay was selling speaker enclosures along the same concept lines, but only covered them in one color carpeting. I'd like to see them sold as just the enclosure box so whatever carpet or covering could be self installed to match the interior.

Well, mine may not be of interest.I had them mostly done by a fabricator, who did it cheap, becuase he was teaching some subordinates how its done.Mine are custom fiberglass enclosures,no wood except the speaker internal supports. They have been contoured to match the lines of the sides and back of my 79,but I think its pretty much the same in C3's.Then they were covered in black carpet,as thats whats in the car.Makes the only speaker faces more visible.I could have chosen a contrasting color(s).I'm thinking maybe mounting an amp between them,or in one of the compartments-I have the early '79, 3 compartment style.... http://www.1-4u-computer-graphics.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=ganey;action=display;num=1099530858
