I like it a lot! I picked the L-88 myself... awesome hood! What did you use for the underside insulation? I've been running nothing, been thinking about putting something on it and what you did looks great.

Getting ready to purchase an L -88 hood for the `69
VETTERBOB 2007-09-17 10:24:08
where did you purchase from and how did the install go?
any input from anyone about their L-88 hood purchase and install would be appreciated. I have got to get this done prior to the trip to NCM next month.

Purchased from Ecklers.
Install was pretty straight forward. Not a lot of fitting to be done to mine. I had the shop finish and smooth some of the underside. Underside is a rough finish. I had some heat blanket installed in the center section to protect it from the heat.
Just click on my car domain link down below to take a look at my hood.

Pretty sweet Darryl! I've put the same hood on my vette and I like it alot. I went with the shorter hook so I could keep my wiper door intact. Mine is pretty rough under it too, and I will also have it cleaned up before it gets painted.
So, the heat blanket you installed. Is that self-adhesive? If not, how did you install it? Where did you get it? I'd like to do the same to my hood.

I can't remember the name of the adhesive, but I believe it was made by 3M. It's had for high heat applications. I'm sure your local auto body paint and supply shop would know exactly which one it is.
