I am going to start work this week on installation, does anybody have instructions on getting off the center console? I know it might sound silly but it does not seem readily apparent to me.

Vette(s): 1979, Targa Blue (72 Color), Pace Car rear spoiler, L88 hood, Dark blue factory interior, 525HP 406, HD 700R4, 370 gears,Steeroids, composite rear spring, TT IIs wrapped in T/A Radials.
You don't need to remove the entire console. Only the side panels. There should be 3 trim scews on each side. One near the front of the console under the dash and 2 toward the rear next to the seats - they're easier to take out with the seats outWink

Be gentle with the side pieces as they will need to be recovered with the new carpeting. I wound up tracing them onto some pegboard stock Lamp(sans holes) and cutting out new ones as both of mine were cracked in half by the previous bubba. This worked out great!!

BTW, I also went with Wilcox carpet and bought a roll of the heat barrier/insulation from Autozone. Worked out great.

Good luckWink
