Need help locating a 1982 Steering Column part

I am replacing the ignition cylinder on my '82. Found an old stock OEM. As I began disassembling the innards of my steering column. I came to a strange plastic piece covering the lock plate. It is very brittle, light yellow and fading to orange/brown. It had some cracks in it, but was pretty much in one piece when I got to it. When I began to try to move it while exploring how to get it out (it is not in any information I have found or on any video either,) part of it snapped off. It has a part number on it (7808385 20) but, so far, I have found nothing on the internet related to that number. Is there anyone who can enlighten me to what it is called, if it is necessary, and where I might find one to replace it. If I can get it out and salvage the rest of it, I might see if I can find someone to make me a new one. Somehow, I think maybe someone out there has already done so. Any ideas, anyone?
I am looking for a way to post a photo, but this is my first attempt and see no way to do so at this point. I clicked on "Quick Post", maybe that is the reason(?)

@edingerb Sorry about that. The Insert Image button was missing on Quick Post. But it is there now. Also, if you reply to this thread, you'll see an Insert Image button (just above the message box) to add pics now.
Thanks.

Here are a few photos of the part I am looking for. The first shows it on the steering column. The other two are just close-ups where you can see the part number.

I found it on an old thread from another forum. There is a link to a black version of it that also refers to the part number (without the separate 20). the link to it is:

It shows to be on backorder right now. I'll keep looking for other sites that may have it.

Seems I did not look hard enough yesterday. Today I found it all over the place. Ecklers, and a bunch on eBay. Problem solved.
