Howdy all! In the area where the windshield wipers go (in front of the window) the flat area is covered with some kind of goop. On mine it is cracking and coming off but I have NO idea what the hell that stuff is! Anyone know?

Thanx

Glenn

It is....TA-DA!!!....regular roofing asphalt!!!
You can remove what is left, and use a spray-able undercoating up there, if you want. It's not "original", but it does the same job.
Be aware, that the "goop" also seals several small holes that go thru to the inside of the cockpit area. That is the original purpose of the stuff, anyway, to seal the holes up there.

AAAhhh thanx! I was thinking of using that rubber coating stuff for tools. Its called liquid handle or some such thing! I get it here in Japan and its in Japanese (probably called "Super happy good time fun family ruber type substance #1") so it doesnt really matter what its called as I cant read it.
