Hello, I just purchased an '81 and I'm not familiar with these types of seats. The passenger seat folds forward without pushing a button or lever but the driver's side won't. Is it supposed to just flip forward or is there something that I'm not seeing or broken? It seems like it wants to go forward but is getting bound up and won't fold. Has anyone experinenced this?

It should just fold forward. If it doesn't, there is a small pendulum catch in the hinge that is hung-up. It keeps the seat from folding forward during panic stops.

Take a look at my Car-Domain pictures in my signature below.
Page 5 shows where I removed the seats, cleaned the hinge and put it back together.
Not difficult at all.
