 It is necessary to remove the sport  mirrors for a good paint job and most painters don't want to do this part. While it seems the only way to get to both screws is to remove the glass, there is a trick. There are both upper and lower stops in each runner, front and rear. The easiest way to access the mirror screws with the least amount of work is to remove the lower stops and allow the window to slip down a couple of inches. Mark the stop screw position before you loosen them and you can reset perfectly.

i used a swivel headed kamaza box sort of wrench and masking tape to hold the angle i needed.Wink

Dropping the lower stop as suggested really helps a lot.   I strongly recommend it.
