Good day all!
I’m about to install a new Dash Harness/fuse box. The Dash is out of the car. I just wanted to see if anyone has done this before and had any tips, tricks, or horror stories? It’s going in my 1980. I already replaced the engine, fwd and rear light harnesses. The fitment of the fuse box to the firewall looks awfully tight at first glance. The hood cable assembly is right there.
If anyone has a words of wisdom it would be greatly appreciated. I will post how it goes once I get into it.

While I have not personally had any experience with this, here are some thread I found on a search of the site that may (or may not 😁) help....
Also, before the thread links, here is a link to 1980 Wiring Diagrams provided by our good friend Adams' Apple!

Thanks Adam! Every little bit of information is helpful. I try to work smarter, not harder, but sometimes I get that reversed 😂

Hello, I Just finished a Total Re Wire on a 75'. Came from "Lectric Limited". Very well labeled and assembled. I had Zero problems. Took the power windows circuit out! Put in crank style. They go up and down EVERY time. Took out the AC too. Windows work! Took out heater too. It was defunct and very broken, made more room to work. Don't drive in frosty or damp weather. It's a driver, and enjoyable. New stuff works best.

Just curious; did this harness have glass tube fuses, or the more modern blade type?
I'd love to replace my dash harness, but there is no way I can crawl down there to do it. And it looks like replacing the fuse block could be a real pain -- I can hardly see mine, even with the left side of the dash out.

Thanks, My harness is from Lectric Limited as well, good to know you had luck with them. I already rebuilt the heater/ac box, and I have T-Rex arms, so need the power windows 😂 I do have the whole dash and console out, so hopefully I can get everything in place and stowed neatly before installing the dash. It's a lot of wires and connectors, so it looks daunting. But, I don't have to rush, so no reason to not get it right!

Yes it was the double end glass tube system. I had the car completely empty. Wired it with no front end or booster on it. No interior either.

Have not replaced the main dash wiring in my 81 but all other wire sets in the vette by Lectric - Limited. They were all marked well. Having the Assembly Manual close by was helpful. I did install new wiring under the dash for added electric mirrors.
