Jim;
Thanks but that is definitely NOT a 1980 T-Top carrier. The guy doesn't know what he has. From 78-82 there isn't enough room on the deck to put one of those.
This is a vinyl/plastic and strap contraption that touches the glass and goes in the 4 mounting holes the two outboard ends are probably 5X5" plastic blocks that catch the edge of the top and strap over and back to the center piece that touches up on the back glass.
I'll find one one of these days and try to post a pic here.
Thanks for lookin'!

Sounds like your installation turned out great!. My situation being a '73 convertible has no bumper seam to go from as I still have the chrome bumpers so I have to go from the back of the convertible deck lid.
Rearn2go72 ( Jim ) gave me this dimension and I made a paper template from this and the rack itself. I just have to be careful to center it so the fuel door opens properly.
I just haven't gotten up the guts to drill those six 1/2" holes in my blue beauty. Thanks for getting back to me.
Jim D.

I can also tell you that some aftermarket tacks will not line up with the original holes.
