I recently purtchased a luggage rack for my '73 convertible but it came with no template or measurements. I would appreciate it very much if someone with a convertible with such a rack could give me the measurement from the rear of the deck lid to the front mounting hole on the luggage rack. Thamks in advance.

Vette(s): 1972 conv., sunfire yellow, blk interior, blk vinyl and convertible top. Off frame restoration with American Speed 383 stroker engine producing 500hp plus a 200hp NOS system. MSD ignition. Hooker super competition headers with chambered exhaust.

On my 72, from the back of the deck lid to the center of the bolt pattern is 5 5/8 inches. Don't think there would be much difference in the 72 and 73. Hope this helps.

Yes, right at the very bottom of the vents.

Pay real close attention to your fuel door when measuring, even trial fit the rack on the deck, to make sure the door opens with enough clearance.

I bought my luggage rack from Ecklers when they were here for Corvettes at Carlisle. I don't see any of the catalog vendors selling luggage racks for any of the bubble window C3s (78-82). I don't really see how one would fit. Your car must have had some sort of aftermarket rack.
Maybe you can check measurements at one of the car shows.
