Does anyone know the proper location for the luggage rack? I'm thinking of installing one and was wondering how many inches from the back window should it be?
Can any one fill in the answers and/or offer other advice:
Distance from back window:
Distance from left C pillar:
Distance from Right C pillar:
Distance from bumper/body seam:
Any information is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

Well, maybe you can tell me where I'm supposed to store suitcases and store T-Tops on a cross-country trip?

One caution here, will weight on the luggage rack lead to cracking in the fiberglass? I've noticed a number of C3's (including mine) where there are cracks on the lip above the rear end (where the deck ends and the vertical rear panel begins). My theory is that these cracks were caused by putting weight on the rear deck.
Just a thought.

My understanding is that the racks are for the Tops only! I don't have racks, but I recently moved into my dorm in my 75 Corvette and had no issues with cracking, however everything was inside! I wouldn't reccomend putting more than the tops outside. At least in my car weighing her down made huge changes to the performance and handling, was very interesting to drive 300 miles with a fully loaded car! Got great gas mileage somehow though(30mpg on a mostly stock l48?)

Hey Scot- Did you do your mileage check with a calculator and two tank top-offs, or by eyeballing the fuel gauge? Was it downhill all the way? (Please consider that to be good-natured ribbing)
There is probably no factory American V-8 in history that has achieved 30 mpg, let alone a Corvette. Are you sure???????

The closest I've ever seen to 30 mpg with an American V8 is the LS1/LS6 in the C5. Chevy claims 28 mpg
