Vette(s): 1976 Brown with Buckskin Interior. I bought her on 9/15/03 and just received it on OCT 1st 2003!! It needs interior work, and some things under the hood, but I am so excited! Just waiting for Summer of 2004 to totally show it off.
Is that what they call the map light???? Anyone know how to make it light up? Is it battery operated? I thought I read that somewhere, but I have read so much info since I bought my set I can't remember? Can anyone tell me though how to make it light up? |wavey|
thanks!!!

I had this option on my '75 roadster. If it is factory, and probably is there is an on- off switch right by the lens and no it is not battery operated. The wire comes in at the top of your windshield. I hope ths helps.

My 76 has this option as well. If you look at the bottom of the rearview mirror, there should be what looks like a little clear plastic lense with a little "stem" hanging down. Slide this (right is "on" I believe) and it should light up.

If it's hooked up, you should see a wire coming from the top where the mirror attaches to the windshield.

When I first got my car the map light didn't work. After sitting for a while I think some corrosion must have set in.After operating the switch a few times it started working.I also had similar troubles with the washer/wiper switch.
