Vette(s): 1971 T-top. I just had car shipped from my parents house in florida where it has sat for over 12 years..It is going to be a long project!

Well finally after wraping chain around rafters, putting hole in ceiling, and grinding off 6 rusted bolts I have lift off.  I have straps under rocker chanels and plywood under car then sitting on 2x4s.  Is ok to store car like this for a little while?  Everything seems supported.  There is not much left in front clip.

As long at the structure is supportes and not bowing, I don't see any storage problems.  It it is bowing at all, add some more support.

Wow, thanks.  Now I dont feel so alone in making do with what I can.  And since I dont have an engine hoist I figure I can put my engine in this way too and should be eaiser....

actually the hoist was just so I could move it around. but for the tub work I did a similar thing you did. I used a cahin hoist, with a contraption I built with 4x4's and angle iron.

Keep the nose supported so you don't end up with cracked fenders. I have a high ceiling in my garage so I used two come-a-longs to lift mine off.

My rocker channels look pretty except where the front insert/door channel is..how did you get the rocker channel off and was it hard to pull out the front channel....?

I be honest. I've been working on this car since 1993 and prolly did the reassembly in 1995. I suffer from sometimers

I dont remember what that was like.
