Leather Set Repair vs. Seat Cover Replacement

Vette(s): 1972 LT1 Coupe (Steel Cities Gray w/Deluxe Saddle interior)

My '72 (dark saddle leather interior) wears its original seat covers and foams. There is one spot on the driver's seatback along the side closest to the door along with its piping that needs to be repaired. I'd prefer to maintain the originals (to facilitate survivor judging) rather than re-cover them with a new set of leathers. Has anyone here on the Forum used an upholsterer somewhere in or near the Baltimore/DC region who has skillfully done seat cover repairs on their C3?

Is it a show car? If not just replace the covers with new cushions and covers!

300 bucks at most upholstery shops. Nothing special to it.
