I started the re-do of my seats Tuesday eve by doing the two seat bottoms first.Glass beaded the springs then painted.Bought new seat foam and covers.The bottoms were no problem  even though I had no instruction sheet for help.The seat backs are another story! Have a helper because they are a little more difficult to strech/hold/hog ring by yourself. I now understand why Al Knoch wanted $400.00 to cover them,labor only,at the NCRS show last month.I managed to finish one seat back by myself last night,but it was a bear.I strpped one seat down to the frame but left the other assembled for reference while I did the other.

[QUOTE=corvette440hp]

It's still cold out and your leather seats are feeling about as chapped as your hide because the dryness is sucking out all the oils that came with that piece of cow. You've discovered you can't raise temps by sheer willpower, but you can plan ahead so when the weather takes a turn.

Lube your leather with some treatment that will clean, soften and leave a subtle shine on your interior.
Use a pH balance-neutral compound to replace lost oils in the leather fibers of seats that are over 30 years old so they stay plump and flexible.

Newer leathers have a micro thin polymer coating that won't allow oils to penetrate so Leather Lotion is used for cleaning and to prevent UV rays from drying out the topcoat and cracking it.

You've endlessly buffed the outside of your car, maybe the inside could use the same treatment?

 just spent the last 1/2 hour triing to search for how to take

care of these leather seats my hubby put in the ole rootbeer float  the answers were right here on the forum. Thanks for the post
