My drivers side belt hardware is broke. The lap belt will not release when pulled. Does anyone know where to buy a rebuilt kit or where to buy the whole assembly? The lap belt and shoulder belt are connected at the latch.

I may have solved my problem. The retractor has a teflon spacer between it and the body. It seems that mine (retractor) has alot of play in it and did not mount flush to the body. As I explained this to the guy at the Corvette junk yard, he said that the retractor must not move. Soooooo, after a couple of washers and a lock washer on top, it seems to work fine!!!!!

Thinking about replacing the belts in 77 but found it interesting about company rebuilds and reconditions? them Was spellng correct Snake Oyl products? Ron in Eagle Pass Texas

I highly recommend Charlie Santorelli for seat belt restoration, especially if you're at all concerned with mantiaining originality, including the correct webbing style, date coded belts and what not. Your turnaround time will be much faster, and cost less than Ssnake-Oyl.
