The key hole on the passenger side of my 79 Corvette does nothing when I insert the key.
How do I access the the part to fix it??
Is it possible to get the door panel off without opening the door?? The door is locked and I have no way to open it.
Also, how do I find this question to check for an answer??
Thank You in advance for your time and conderation in this matter.

Does your car not have the manual lock/unlock knobs under the door pull handles? I was told by a locksmith there is almost no way to get a slim-jim between the glass and weatherstrip on a Vette... For the door panel, I'm not sure if it can be done with the door closed, but if so, here's how: remove the door pull handle and the trim around the door latch release lever. If you bend something like a putty knife or piece of thin sheet metal into an L shape, you can get it under the edge of the door panel and slide it around until it hits a fastener. Whan it does, pull to loosen the fastener. I think there are also a couple of screws through the panel into the door, but not sure. Get a light and look real close. Hope this helps. Good luck?

Yes it is manual and the knob came off some time back, been looking for replacments for it, but haven't had much luck.
I suppose I'll have to go by trying a few things.
Thanks for the response.

Sounds like all you need to do is remove the armrest/door pull handle. The rod for the manual door lock should be right there where you can pull on it. Not sure, but you may not have to remove the armrest. Maybe you can just reach it with needle-nose plyers...
