Adam,
Give this guy a call. He just did my '72 Chevelle and I am pleased with the results. He is on route 30 in Frazer ( mabey 25 minutes from you ).

Tell himm you got his name from me, not that you will get a better price, but you never know.

Adam,
This sounds like a good deal to me. I wonder how much is invested in the paint itself. I am having my '73 roadster restored and the price of the paint job is $5500. This is by Harborvette, Inc. in Erie, Pa. It is PPG paint and the cost of the paint is $600 because it is red. So if you can get yours painted red for that kind of money, It sounds like a great deal to me! Bill, '73 REDVETTE

Hey... thanks for the recommendation.
I just called them. I really didn't get a "warm and fuzzy" from them. He (Jeff) admitted to not really knowing all the little nuances with painting a Vette. He said if I'm looking for a quick, inexpensive job, they'd be fine, but if I'm looking for the type of work that a $4000 job would get me somewhere else, he said I shouldn't bring it to them.
Oh well. So far, the guy I listed above is the only one in the running.

Take a look at all those little .1 & .2 times. That's what will save you some money when you add them up also. Overall, doesn't sound like a bad price. How much "fixing", like stress cracks, fiberglass work, prep work, sanding, etc is needed also? That's the type of stuff that is critical to a nice smooth job. The more of that you can do yourself, the more money you have left over for other mods.

I think it sound like a pretty good deal. I was given a quote of $4500 for a repaint (among the other usual necessary services) by a guy that is supposed to be THE MAN in Bloomington, IL. I have put off the paint job in favor of some other work (that could damage a great paint job). I say that if the shop knows their stuff, this is a great price.
