Vette(s): Used to own a 1979 Corvette now owned by JB79
I got an estimate to repaint my '79 for $3362.
It is a Dupont paint that comes with an 11 year warranty, 8 of which are 100% coverage for materials & labor.
The bumpers will be removed and painted separately and things like mirrors, emblems, etc will be removed too.
What do you all think about this price?
These links are to a copy of the estimate, so you can see all the details of what will be done:

Sounds very good to me if they know how to prep a Vette. I have had people tell me to be ready to spend 5-6 grand for a paint job.

The picture is deceiving! I was surprised just how good it looked in that picture. But it actually looks even worse now. It'll be worth it!

Adding to the list of things that should be removed for a good paint job:
Tailights and side marker lamps.
Rocker panel trim.
Antenae
Door handles
Any exhaust trim
Door/window weatherstripping
Windshield/window trim
License plate trim
Grills and any grill trim
Also, find out if they will be painting your door jams. If they do, remove what you can and make sure they mask off the rest. Also, if they are painting the jams, find out what measures they will be taking to protect your interior from overspray/paint dust.
good luck!

when getting a c3 painted it is a good time to replace the weather stripping around the door as it will allow a better job painting the inside of the doors. if its in good condition it can be removed with 3M general purpose adhesive cleaner and reinstalled. Also remove the headlight benzels and have them painted . i have seen shops skip painting these.
