Going to start the reassembly of the interior and was looking for your thoughts. this is for my 72. I know that the car didnt start when the shifter was in neutral but it did start in park. Thought I would replace the neutral safety switch while I have it this far apart. I found 2 different ones. I never checked the switch to see if it was not adjusted correctly or if it was bad. I had to remove the shift mechanism so I can change the detent to match the new 2004r trans I am going to. Is there a way to test the switch out on the bench? Will the original switch work on the new trans? I can call bowties on
monday but thought I would ask that question here to see what others have done or think.

Now the next question is about the oil gauge set up. The gauge in the car wasnot hooked up when I bought it. I guess I can put a plastic line kit on it while it is out to find out if it even works. If it works and I reuse it should I use a copper line instead of the plastic line? is there any disadvantages to using copper.I dont want to take a chance on a plastic line breaking and having oil everywhere. Is there a change over with a 72 gauge face that I could go to an electric sending unit instead?

When putting the interior back together have you done the front dash area before installing your carpet? I want to hold off on the carpet as long as possible since it is going to be a light color.

Now for some speakers,I often read that instead of using the under the dash pad speaker many go with kick panel speakers. What speakers are being used and where in the kick panel are they being placed. I would rather go in the kick panel if possible as I know the dash speakers arent the best.
Im sure I will have many more interior questions so thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Rodney
