Vette(s): 1982 Vette Collector Edition

Hi to all out there,

I'm a little new at this so I hope I do not seem dumb.

I have a 1982 CE . I got this car 2 years ago,it had been

sitting for 13 years and I wanted it.The first thing was to

put 4 new tires on it;the tires on were dry rotted.

Things I replaced were ( cat,oxigen sensor,EGR,Map,ECM & chip.

Now the car is running pretty good.I had the car painted a year

ago.The question I have is how is corvette central. They have

a pretty good deal on an interior package for the 82ce. I

would be thankful for any input.Since I am running off at the

mouth,Iwant to say this site is super and the people that respond

are the best.Thankyou,  hodgev

I've had good luck with Corvette Central, but I just ordered their car cover and the 3 compartments behind the seats for storage. I was pleased. Lately, I've been ordering parts from Volunteer Vette (a bunch) to rebuild my clutch & break pedal assembly, shifter boots, tunnel insulator, tunnel collar, retainers, underbody insulator, underbody heat shields, some bracket's & mounts. Fast shipment.........I was IMPRESSED!! Check them out at: www.volvette.com
I just ran off at the mouth also, so your not alone.

Vette(s): 1980 L-48 still in the middle of a frame-off.

I ordered a complete interior from Wilcox  http://stores.ebay.com/Willcox-Wholesale-Corvette-Parts_W0QQ ssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm

They have everything you need plus more. The service is very good and you can call them for other parts too.

Good Luck  DB

Corvettes and women are the same...You want to make love to them but they keep breaking down.

I did my complete interior this summer.  I did a lot of research and discovered that most companies are sourced by Corvette America.  The question then went from quality to who had the best deal.  I went with Ecklers.  They have a discount program that gives you a discount on the "Interior package" ( seat covers, carpet, door panels) then an aditional discount on all matching color interior parts.  They also have terrific customer service, if you have anything that is damaged, lost whatever, they will send a replacement immediately, before you even send back the bad piece.  I have heard that Al Knoch has the best interior for concourse restoration though.  Good luck, have fun......

Yes, CorvetteAmerica is pretty good. I was pleased with them as much as Eckler's. Have not used Bairs yet. What did you order there?

Tachometer repair board and a leather shifter boot. Was the best price out of all retailers at the time. Very helpful people.

I would look around a lot since the interior stuff for the '82 CE is the most expensive C3 interior out there. I have a normal '82 and I used Wilcox, was very happy, they also had the best prices. Be prepaired to pay a lot for the CE interior

I must have 50 "frequently used" bookmarks when I shop for parts.

I believe that Corvette America has a "press" to make molded carpets.  So that would explain why they are the main provider for the other ones.

When I need a repro, I shop around for the best price, since most of them, as said here, all carry the same stuff.  They just trade from each other when they don't make it themself.

Sometimes, there's more than just price, depending on what you are looking for.  Customer service (live and knowledgeble person) might be important to you as well as good return/exchange policy.
