Vette(s): 1969 Corvette Stingray Convertible. Just bought it from my uncle who owned it since 1971. Fathom green, green interior. 350/300, T400.

Ok, now I'm really perplexed. The temp gauge on my'69 doesn't light up. I figured a bolb in the back of the bezel, easy fix, right? Wrong, I loosened up the bezel and pulled it forward. With the garage light off I was able to see the all the insturment bulbs were lit, but the temp gauge is still dark. Any ideas? This is really weird. The temp gauge is a replacement gauge. This is one of the weirder things I've encountered on the 'Vette and that's saying alot.

Thanks,

Matt

Vette(s): 1970 Conv. 350/350, Wht./Blk.,P/W P/B,P/S,TT, 4 Spd.

The gauges are back lit and the gauge housing has each opening labeled with the wire color that is attached to the socket where it goes in the bezel.

It sounds like maybe one or more bulbs may be in the wrong place on the housing.

All of the dash lights are identified by a light gray wire. If they are plugged in correctly and all the bulbs are lit, check to make sure you  have the correct bulbs.

I am sure it is something simple.

Good Luck. Let us know what you find.
