So what's a "good" resistance spec for HEI ignition wires? I replaced mine several years before the rebuild I'm doing now with a good set. There are not many miles on this set - less than 2K. They were a bit oily, but they cleaned up nice with gentle degreaser and the jackets and boots are in physically good shape. I measured the resistance of all and calculated resistance per length. Very consistent at about 42-44 ohms/inch for all wires. (500-525 ohms/ft). Seems low compared to some of the specs I've seen on the internet (good) but the specs I could actually find on the internet were all over the place and none specific to HEI systems (bad). I think I'm going to keep 'em since they're a good set and they're direct fit for my car (routed underneath with original shielding). Thoughts?
Thanks, Dave

I think what helps you know they are ok they all read the same, it would be obvious if one was bad the resitance would be way off. my 2 cents. but I am broke
I belive the resistance will be different between the 7mm wires and 8mm

Thanks, Bob. I agree - consistency is good in this case. They are 8 mm wires, FYI.
