ignition- shielded for your frustration!

finally got around to replacing my spark plug wires which were long overdue, and for the life of me, i cannot figure out how the hell anyone can remove the #2 and #4 wires without removing the starter, motor mount, passenger side manifold and a/c! i mean what a PITA

does anyone know a sane method for actually getting to those damn wires that are hiding under the shield?

I have to change those plugs and wires on mine by taking off the front wheel and going in through that way to get to them. (just did it last week, no fun!)
