Ya'll remember here awhile back, I had lost the cover for my Starter Interlock Relay on the '74. My good bud Larry(Dejablue) came thru from me, and sent me one.
Well, today, I was out werking on the two Vettes, getting them both ready for the trip to the Gathering...changing oil, cleanin, etc. While under the '74, I was checking on the foam seal that fits on the top of the bellhousing, and I hear this tinny, rattle noise. Imma thinkin, "What the heck was that?". Sooooo, I starts lookin around, and guess what I found? I cain't believe it, but there it was, stuck up behind the ignition shielding, just above the starter.
Sooo, now I have my original Relay for a back-up!!

I remember that day you lost it.......you were all grumpy because it was "gone for ever, could never find it on the street where it probably went"........it never ended up on the ground and you had it all this time.......Rolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20LaughingRolling%20On%20The%20Floor%20Laughing......too funny!LOLLOL greypoupon692008-04-06 19:49:24

who would have thought it stayed on the car. that's like the time at work my eyeglass case (with glasses in them) fell out of my shirt pocket and went crazy looking for it. was a pain the rest of the day trying to figure out where i lost them. next morning walking up to my truck there they were on the back bumper. drove around with them there for a few hours the day before.Thumbs%20Up

I has to assume that the air under the hood from the fan blew the thing over there, and down...the relay ain't anywhere close to that spot. If it had fallen straight down, it would have hit the ground without touching anything. As it was, it would up about 8 inches over towards the driver side from where it mounts, and then fell down behind the plug wire shielding.

And I thought that the only things that would not fall all the way through were small nuts and wrenches(unless I am laying under there...ouch).

Last year I shoved my camera down into that vast black hole on the drivers side engine compartment behind the wheel well to snap a pic of the washer pump. Brought up the photos on the computer and clear as day there was a special bolt laying there that I had spent hours searching for. Impossible to see otherwise.
Now if I drop something and it dissapears, I'll pull out the camera again.
