Hey,
I was thinkin' When i drove a C5, the HUD was an awesome feature, especially when thrashing the car as the salesperson gave me the permission to do(changing lanes in traffic and wondering how fast you're going gets a little hairy without the HUD when the "how fast" is over 105. Point of the post would be. Has anyone seen anything like the HUD that would work for one of our C3s? I found some but they seemed geared towards Mitsubishi's.

Heads Up Display -- Speedo Tach projected onto the windshield...you can see them when driving without having to look down at the dash.

That why I refuse to drive a new C-5. Too many cool gadgets...can't afford one...don't want to be tempted.

The special windshield for a C5 is well over a grand to replace...do they make one of those for C3 I wonder and how much is it?

I wish I could remember just WHO it was that HAD aftermarket HUD systems.....damn...I hate when I do this.....i remember it isn't as ''fancy'' as the C5..had the speedometer..tach.. and I think turn signal indicators.

knowing me will wake up in the middle of the night with WHO it is that has it!!

I am surprised you don't already have one of those in Rosie |biggrin| . How is the digital dash coming? You might as well do it all when you do the radio |smile|

I can't wait until spring and all the work on my 71 is complete to get rid of the 1971 HUD head under dash and get back to just plain driving |laugh|

good one, pozz33

what's wrong with the mitsu ones? they must be self contained anyway. I think the C3 dash might be too shallow to fit the projector, unless it is only 2 or 3 inches deep and wide. Then the windshield angle might not work. But it is a cool idea.

Got any F-14 junkyards near where you live? LOL Joe

Joe, the Mitsu ones said they only worked with certain engines, and I don't know enough about engines to know ours are that type. but I know a big Iron American engine is nothing like a Mitsu engine. I'll look for the website and post a link. The other thing is that these needed to hook up to the computer

Scot

PS- if I could afford f-14 parts i'd own one of them and not a Vette. Still debating US Naval Aviator as career, Depends on the S.O.
